Mola Sasa x Wicklewood

Mola Sasa x Wicklewood

Vivid colors, vibrant motifs and impeccable finishes are some of the principals that we as a brand share with Wicklewood, a London-based brand that also collaborates with different artisan communities. In fact, our colorful, detailed Kuna Textiles done in collaboration with the Guna Dule community and Wicklewood’s beautiful hand weave jaspes made in Guatemala are what caught each other's attention, making us want to work together.

Our collaboration with Wicklewood started back in April of 2020, only a  few months of the beginning of COVID worldwide pandemic and the whole world in lock-down. Caroline Downing Nadal and Rosie Axford, brand's founders, contacted us via Instagram and we instantly fell in love with their creations and story. With a family legacy spanning three generations across the interior design, textile and fashion industries, Wicklewood original designs pay homage to many strong women, including Guatemalan textile collector and lecturer Lilly De Jongh Osborne and the duo behind British fabrics and wallpapers brand Blithfield.

For us, this momentum coincided with the release of our first HOME accessory styles, so we were really living and breathing the world of the interiors design like never before. And, even though for us seeing life in color is a given, we see color everywhere! Last year we confirmed many of our followers and community are eager to learn more about the power of color and loose fear of experimenting and having fun with its endless possibilities.

From Bogotá to New York, to London and LA, our main goal was to create an unparalleled collection that would transform any space and fill it with LIFE. With a fusion of both brands' statement artisan techniques and delicate pattern designs, Wicklewood x Mola Sasa is a celebration of bold colors, sustainable production and artisan traditions.

It doesn't matter where you are, how your home is decorated and even which are your favorite colors... you will definitely find a style to mix and match in your living room, bedroom or even yourself.

ABOUT THE ARTISAN TECHNIQUES

All the Kuna Textiles are made in Colombia in the Caiman Alto Reserve by the Guna Dule community who for generations have passed down an ancient appliqué technique of hand sewing cut-out layers of fabrics to form an intricate piece of art. Then the Kuna Textiles are brought to England, where they are crafted into cushions which are backed with Wicklewood’s statement fabrics and signature contrasting trim.
